The thing that would upset me the most IF Ford ever re-produce a retro Bronco, is they would cater to the yuppies and it would follow the fate of the Bronco II. Fully loaded overpriced POS with limited capabilities.
In order for this truck to survive, it would have to be Jeep like. Simple layout, easy to work on, simple bolt on parts and components, rugged axles, available V-8,. Bronco lovers know what I mean. This truck should be very inexpensive but well built. There is a medium. Young people flock to Jeeps because they are capable and affordable. Toyota took the FJ in the complete wrong direction by not following it's very capable and respectable roots.

Yeah it was unvalled in the 04 auto show, not the same as my old '77. It may resemble it in looks but it will never resemble it in performance, those old ones took a beating and came back for more.

haha I'm with Jim AND Josh. I want mine with a solid front axle!
And like tim said, give me something that's inexpensive, but overbuilt. Give me a stout engine, stout axles, a stout transfer case, and a stout transmission and as long as the dash don't rattle (stupid Tundra that I'm in now) I'll be happy as hell

Having a '66 I agree with MOST People here, What we need is to follow the same design of the old one but with modern powertrain. D44 solid axle at both ends coil sprung optional lockers . base engine should be a small v6 with a 5 or 6 speed stick. optional 3v 4.6 and 5-6 speed auto to try to keep a kinda small light package , with plenty of power.. oh and A 4to1 low range. I think it would be awsome and i've already told my wife if it does happen i'm gonna buy one.. She just rolled her eyes They really don't understand
