I already have a driveshaft loop welded in, just in case. I check my truck once a week, just to be sure everything is in good shape. The only thing im having consistant problems with are the nuts and bolts on the header collector flanges. They keep loosening and the nuts fall off, then I have a hellacious exhaust leak...
Nylock nuts wont work either.. it just burns the nylon out and they fall off.
Anyone have any kind of suggestion (short of loktite)?
Oh yea, whats the "best" wax to use on these old trucks? Mine's overdue and hopefully I'll be putting her in a car show within the week!
I use serated headed bolts and nuts it keeps it from backing off.
I know headman sells them with there headers now check with a nut and bolt shop
Updated pics in gallery , just deleted a bunch and added new , just painted engine bay , what do you think? Went gloss black epoxy enamel which is great paint from AutoZone .
As for the loosening header collector bolts, try double nutting them. Get a longer set of bolts and another set of nuts. Tighten everything down like you normally would, then run the other set of nuts up. Hold the first nut and tighten the second nut down against it. Should keep things from coming apart.
nice looking trucks. Quick question.... I have a 75 f150-f250 ranger 2wd. I want to lower just the rear and I am seeing some drop shackles on ebay can I pick those up and be done with it?
