looking for poster of kingpins
Hi group. I'm a newbie so bear with me. This am I was reading a post about someone looking for a kingpin set for his F-500. I just sold my 56 F-500 dump that was made for the US Army. The P O ,which was destroyed by the wind, stated for it to be built with all heavy duty running gear & chassis. I had this truck since 1988 & hauled many many loads of dirt & gravel over 4 yards @ a load. I had side boards higher than the cab. Anyway I drove it from the cal coast to the eastern oregon high desert without a problem. This was over 10 years ago. I have been carrying a NOS kingpin set around for almost as long as I had the truck . The truck had a wheel shimmy at certain speed & a truck shop said I need a kingpin set which I bought from them. It turns out when I went to have the front wheels balanced by a differant shop they discovered a bent rim. We changed the wheel & by magic the shimmy disappeared so I have been hanging onto the set. If anyone knows this poster will they have him E-mail me rdiegan@gmail.com
Thanks,

First post
John, thanks for this article. I wish I'd read it before I started on my Wife's inherited '49 F1 Stakebed. Trailered it to San Diego from north of Sacramento in August of 2014. Done quite a bit on getting it running and am getting to the little things like gauges and speedometer. Has a 350 from a '72 El Camino and 700R4 from craigsList. Want to put in new retro gauge cluster. Any advice would be appreciated.
