New Door panels / existing optional wiring 1984 F250

Hey everybody,

Not sure if this is where this post goes...but here goes.

I bought new door panels for my truck (sun ate the other ones up).

I am going to reuse the "chrome" strip that goes around the door. I think that might be a good idea...sets the door panel off nicely. Ideas? Thoughts?

Also,

What are these electrical connectors for....I have them circled. They were not connected when I took the door panels off. Power window? I do have power door locks...not in picture.

I am not going to reuse the wooden panel inserts...very beat up. And the PO cut a square hole in them...not sure why.

Power window would be a good guess. The wire looks heavy enough to handle them and that port would provide good access to the motor.

Blue circle is the power window motor harness
Red circle is the window control for driver and passenger side windows.

P/O probably got tired of repairing the torque pins int the window motor......

So do you think the truck had power windows and that is why the square hols was cut...or it was just an option and make one harness instead of a feww different harnesses?

Just an option. Most vehicles have all the wiring ran in them, but not all the options for the wires.

I would be willing to bet that the truck at one time had power windows and door locks.
Most of the door panels did not have the 2 little holes drilled and the half drilled hole unless they were drilled by the P/O when working on the window motor. Atleast older ones didn't.

BTW...I am selling my beast. Really a great deal...especially with all the work I had done and all the goodies I am selling with it.
