NEW MEMBER Introduction Thread (NO TECH QUESTIONS)
I've been selling Ford trucks - for about 4 months. I joined the Forums to learn more so I can be more effective for my customers. I want to know which trim packages you prefer, which engines you like, what problems you have with our trucks. I'll never mention my dealership or push you to buy my trucks. I simply want to learn more about Ford trucks.
If used, there's a lot to read up about. There are so many variations and different outcomes with the different models.
If new, I would think people coming in looking to spend $40K + on a vehicle know what they want? or is that just a minority of folks?
First day on the forum here.
I bought my first new truck two weeks ago, a 2015 F250 Crew Cab, 6.2 gas, Platinum. It's Ruby Red with black leather interior (pictures posted in the picture thread). I just went over 500 miles today and so far I'm extremely happy with it. It's a beast of a truck with all of the creature comforts inside. We're planing on buying a travel trailer in the next year or so and I'm sure this truck will be up to the task.
I'm sure I'll be lurking more than posting here and I'm looking forward to learning more about my truck from everyone's experience.

New 2015 F-250 XLT SD Member
Just signing in for the first time on this group/forum. I picked up my first Ford truck last month, a 2015 F-250 XLT SuperDuty Crew Cab with the 6.2L V8 and towing package. Just passed the 1,000mi breaking period so I can start some towing.
I had traded in a 2004 Silverado 1500 Ext Cab with a 5.3L V8 with a towing package, but it was a bit stressed pulling my 29ft, 6500lb travel trailer. It was also suffering the ravages of 11 years of NY winters, salt and brine. The Chevy had constant brake issues, normally associated with rusting of the rotors, caliper and brake lines. It also had what I consider a major design flaw in the any brake line failure resulted in total loss of brakes! I had that happen twice as lines gave way to rust, and it was scary. Did not want that with a loaded camper, even though it has its own brakes.
So far I like the F-250. Drove a 2500 Silverado, but the ride was too mushy for my taste when compared to the firmer ride of the F-250, something I felt was important for a tow vehicle. Mileage is slowing improving from about 11.5mpg to low 14s as i breaks in...hoping to squeak out a bit more , but have to be realists. With the 3.83 gears, may not get much better. Since purchase, I had added step rails (so my wife can get in without a step stool), Rhino spray on bed liner, soft box cover, traditional and electronic AutoSaver rust proofing, window visor/vents, mud flaps and a backup camera.
Just add a pic for now, but will add more as I put my trailers on it.
For added trivia, I have owned 3 older Mustangs but now have both an 84 (for sale) & 87 Corvette, 2014 Impala, and a 1980 Yamaha XS1100 Special to keep me busy. I am currently towing a Jayco FeatherLite 29Y travel trailer.

Greetings from Maine.
My son got my car after passing is drivers test - yay! No more driving back and forth to school! I thought getting a truck would be a good idea and just bought a 2003 F250 7.3 Extended Cab in good shape. It came with a Fisher stainless steel X-plow soon to go on Craigslist and that money is getting plowed back into the rig. It needs some repairs on the bed ($600 -700 estimate) and other than that, so far, so good. Averaging 19mpg.
Working on the driving learning curve, never owned a truck before, and was driving a Subaru.

Hello everyone,
From SW Indiana. I'm attending college and have already got quite the garage of vehicles. I still own my first vehicle, a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 4x4 5spd. I was having enough issues about a year after purchasing it, I got a similar parts ranger from a junkyard for scrap price. I have yet to swap the transmissions (5th gear is out in mine, which was a major reason for getting it). For the MPG's I bought a used 2011 Ford Fiesta SES hatchback after my first year of college. I was travelling too far & often to make safe trips with the truck. It has been a great little car, I average 35-38mpg and have around 33k miles on it.
The reason I finally joined the forum is that I recently picked up a '66 F600 grain truck from a local farmer. I've done most repairs on my truck before, but this is a whole other beast. I have worked on my grandfathers '76 and newer grain trucks but just hoping to learn what I need to so that I can keep this truck running for another 50 years.
Thanks for reading,
Nick

Hello Thanks for inviting me to the group. I have 2 Ford Trucks, a 1964 f350 with a grainboy and hoist that i am restoring. It has the 292 y block and 4 speed. The other Ford is a 1993 Ford Ranger with the 4.0 liter and automatic transmission. This truck I have had since it was brand new and it still looks and run great. The f350 I am the 2nd owner and it is a solid truck. I am 65 and retired and just love to restore trucks.
