Hi!
Just noticed the inbox message, and finally read it!
I am an ex-pizza driving, ex-IT computer guy, now Canada Post courier!
I have a lot of technical interests and like mixing the tech up a bit. Like, Electronic assembly (not so much design), turn wrenches on '70 trucks, IT building computers/servers and ventured into Active Directory and other server services. And a whole lot more...
I have a '78 f150 custom that was owned by a local bush plane company with a 300 I6. I really liked this truck when I saw it as it reminds me of the '75 e100 van my father had and I drove to Calgary for skool (flunked out). Being the guy I am, I had to EFI it! and have done so with VEMS efi and runs great!
At first, I bought the VEMS build it kit with some wires and parts before my son was born around ten years ago. And then a friend had a flatdeck, and I bought it, then went shopping for a truck And found this one parked with a For Sale sign on it... and well I bought it. I decided to put the VEMS to good use and finished building it, and the harness both of which took 2 more years to build. Hardest part is keeping all the wiring in order and having a plan to follow, which I utilized Microsoft Visio for.
One cold day the truck would not start, and I got freakin' mad at it and applied a breaker bar to the carb for some fine tuning. ... and JB welded it back together. That next summer I install the EFI and blew up the muffler (bad timing), forgot the oil pump shaft wondering why the valve train was so noisy, rod knock worsening with high rpm VE tuning sessions... and yeah... the engine.
The most reliable, most abuse taking, best engine ford could make and killed it.
lucky for my poor butt, my Father took pity on me and paid for a rebuilt one with a forged crank.
And that brings ya'll up to current, where I'm waiting for cold weather for more cold start fine tuning. But has only been to -34*C one or two days and the forecast predicts a warm winter
My other vehicle is a Heep Cherokee XJ that I use to courier parcels around in and have been doing so at my new job for three weeks! Really like them Inline 6's!
Anyway that's me... oh and I Love as much as I can, Loving those whom God would. But I ain't religious so there.

New Powerstroke owner
Hey guys just last night I took a chance and bought a 2004 6.0 I am not a fan of the 6.0 and very unsure of my decision. A very clean, stock, Powerstroke super cab with 180k on it and a clean history was hard to pass up for only $7600. Just looking for advice and opinions on my purchase, love to hear what you guys think.

Hi, I'm glad to be part of your community, here is a little about me...
I'm 53 yrs old and a Florida native.
I have been a master certified service manager at Ford motor company and I have done stints as interim service director and body shop manager and I started out as a service writer.
I suffered a massive stroke in 2004 and was told I would never walk or talk again, but thanks to my Lord I'm back.
I have a white and dk teal f-150 long bed with a 5.0 and was born 1996
I just had extensive work done, I added shorty headers, a Magnaflow cat system and summit racing 3" catback to finish it out.
Replaced steering gear box, rancho shocks, H/D ford springs and a list of other things, I'm sure I will have a few questions since I have lost a lot of my memory after the stroke.
Thanks for having me as a member, it feels good to be amongst friends !

Hey guys.
I was wanting to go a little taller and a little wider on wheels and tires but wanted to stay ford if you know what I mean, when did ford go with 16" or 17" rims but were still 5 lug that would fit my truck, I would also look at explorer and excursion if need be, I want to put on dome nice Michelin all season hwy tires.

1967 F-250 Camper Special
New to the Ford Truck Enthusiasts group and thought I would tap the brains of all you Ford folks. I have the option to buy a 1967 F-250 Camper Special/Custom Cab. It was originally owned by a friends Grandparents and has been in his possession the last 30 years. It has been stored in a metal farm shed (not a barn) it's entire life and has 14,000 original miles. Specs are PS, PB, 4 speed manual, 352 CI motor (no air). It also comes with the original Ball slide-in cab over camper that was delivered with the truck. Camper has never been out of it and the tailgate has never been on it. All original with the exception of a carb. kit, and removal of the secondary gas tank. Truck and camper are in perfect condition. Am wondering the value of such a creature. Have been all over the internet and can't find anything comparable. Can you guys give me an idea of what something like this might be worth.
Thanks for taking the time.
Regards,
Terry1960

I'm another new kid on the block with a couple of trucks. Trucks are kinda like chips i guess , can't have just one , Oh and that go's for Beer as well . I have had alot of fords over the years but i finally just bought the one i have been waiting to do as a project since 1984 . I just added to my collection a 1978 F100 short box base truck with a 3 spd and a 300 six . Perfect truck to hot rod with a 429 P.I. motor i have been carting around since i worked for a junk yard in 1984.I have been busy fixing all the little things first and just added power brakes and power steering today. This will be a driving transformation, slow but sure . My other truck is a 97 F350 Dually 4x4 7.3 auto, Love it !! I have been a tech and car and truck enthusiast all my life , so if a time comes i can contribute i certainly will. Hope to learn from all of you as well , Have happy and safe Holidays and we'll see you on the road .
