I know more about the older models than I do the newer. Wish i had a newer one for fun. Have a dodge, but shes been a good truck too. One day I will buy a new ford. But, for now I will stick with the older models. They are fun to work on!! Oh, and welcome to the forum!!!

Hello from the Hoosier state.

Dennis here from Indiana. First diesel, a 2012 F-250 CCSW.
Honestly a problem brought me here (dreaded radiator leak ), I have been stalking around and love the love of our trucks!
Love my truck, not real happy with Ford at the moment. lol Glad to see there are so many fine folks on here willing to help a guy who is basiclly clueless about these power houses.

Guys, I appreciate all the help. I'm just and old man that has a son that has three 1973-75 Ford 1/2 ton pick ups. I personally still have a 1995 F-350, 7.3 Diesel, Dually. Not much of a mechanic though. I am pretty much an all around tinkerer; but, not really a real craftsman at anything, especially at truck maintenance.

I really appreciate all the support and help.
Thanks

Intro

Good evening fellow Ford truckers. I am coming over from the older 250 forum. Just purchased a 2011 F250 XL, 6.7 with 72k miles to replace my very, very tired '88 F250 XL 5.0 with 250k+ miles. The power difference when pulling my work trailers is unbelievable!!! The first time I punched the accelerator on the interstate to pass a couple of cars to get to my exit, I thought I may have pulled the tongue off my trailer! AWESOME!!! So hello and I hope I may offer some input, humor and advise to an already wonderful forum.

'51 Panel . . . . . I also have a Toyota for a daily runner .

Greetings guys & Gals ,

I've also been lurking for some time & last summer took the dive into the deep end of a " purchase & restore " of the ol' '51 Panel .

In the process ; Discovered it was a numbers matching / very little rust
style of a truck !!!!
.... and after nearly 11 months of goofing around ;
I figured it was time to see if the ol' girl would fire up / not .......

After rebuilding the carb & replacing the water pumps ,

About 1 minute of cranking & sure enough . . . . .

Came to life & then the race was on !

As it goes for introducing myself :
I guess I'd call myself a self taught mechanic that's
maybe not as energetic as some , but more than others . . . . ?
Not afraid to tackle a number of tasks as long as I have a
tutor / mentor near by .

Mechanical Noob, Paint PRO.

Hey everyone

My name is Sarah and I'm an Associate Investigator at DuPont Performance Coatings (now known as "Axalta"). I just bought a 2006 Ford F-150 and thought that it would be cool to join a site where I could learn more about my truck, since I barely have any knowledge in the mechanics of vehicles... and maybe teach/help others in the realm of automotive paint and spraying.

I may not be mechanically inclined, but I have extensive experience with automotive paint and a true passion for what I do. In addition to full system prep and application of our products, I analyze (wet and dry) samples to pinpoint the cause of paint defects, develop/test/analyze new formulas of bc/wbbc/cc/primer/sealer (for refinish as well as heavy duty truck, Industrial, Sports & Equipment...etc).

My most recent accomplishment was working with my Primary Investigator and launching a Productive Clear Coat that can be buffed in 30 minutes with a DOI far greater than PPG's productive clear. Also, along with my PI, developed an exclusive color for Peterbilt's 75th Anniversary, which you can see at the link below:

Axalta Develops Exclusive Color For Peterbilt's 75th Anniversary: aftermarket News

Let me know if I can help !

Sarah

Smile Hi Sarah

Hi Sarah, I'm Jim. I'll have to keep your talents in mind!

All those anacronyms(?) got me a little bit though. Guess a body and paint person would know em.

So, are you a chemist? I wish someone would come out with some solid canned spray paint that dried good and hard or is that impossible?

Hello Everyone,
I bought my first Ford truck a few months ago (always had Chevy's) and figured this was the place for Ford owners. btw it is a '99 F150 4X4 with a 4.6L engine. I must admit it is strange driving a Ford after owning Chevy for so long. But there is no doubt that it is a good truck.
