How many of you have the country life?

I live in a small town that feels a bit too big for me...a lot of stores were going in and there was a lot of expansion that was halted recently due to native americans.
My office is 14KM west of my house, I'm moving soon as someone wants to buy our house. The big joke is that as soon as we put the house up 6 other people did the same...it's a 'hot' town apparently but with that much competition have to be careful to not canibalize our assets.
The town my office/store is in is smaller. I took a big risk last april when I decided to put it in a small town since I'm in the IT business. This is not a shameless plug, this is more of an invitiation but if you go to www.fastcomputers.ca and go to contact us you can see where we are...if any of you are passing through (driving semi or just passing through) feel free to stop by and say hi. All employees at the office drive Ford Trucks Hopefully I can keep that a company rule hahaha.
Anyway the plans are to keep migrating farther away from town...and retire in the north if I maintain good health

I am another one of them country folk. But we have a RANCH not a farm. We live about a mile from Clearmont WY a town of maybe 100people (all thats left is a general store, post office and a k-12 school. the bar got shut down after the health inspection lol). It is a good 30 minutes to get to buffalo, and 45 minutes to get to sheridan. And we are near 2 county lines and as far from the major citys in either county so you only see a sherif roll through town once or twice a week. And the occational highway patrol.

I live on a farm in bristolville ohio, we farm about 500 acres, raise about 35 head of beef cattle. our population is probably about 1500. we got a post office, a store/gas station, a school system, about 3 bars, a slaughter house, a concrete place... and I think that's about it. I live about an hour from cleveland. not too much more to tell...

I live in Midland, NC. Basically some farms, a few rich families, an shut down Corning, and some country folk. Good thing is theres a walmart up the road and youu can be to the race rack in a few mins. There's not much to do other than go muddin, hunt, have the county brownies called on you, and go to wal-mart . Another good thing is you can shoot all you want and most people don't care.

I live in north central Iowa. What I call my hometown is Buffalo Center, a town of ~900, but I think I truly live in the middle of nowhere.
Phone: Stevens, IA (dead town) phone exchange to Blue Earth, MN
Address: Elmore, MN - 300 people
Closest town: Rake, IA - 200 people
Town district: Lakota, IA - 200 people
"Hometown": Buffalo Center, IA - 900 people
For those of you keeping track, that's 5 towns, 3 counties, and 2 states
Nearest shopping places are Mankato, MN or Mason City, IA, both over an hour drive. Dad's a farmer of ~1200 acres. 6 acre yard, and only 1 "neighbor" at 1/2 mile (best friend since I was 3 yrs old and classmate of mine so no issues there). I don't think I could live anywhere where I can't measure distances in minutes, doesn't have 4 seasons, and doesn't require you to have a 4x4 to even get to the nearest town for months at a time.

i have lived in the same area all my life. The town is about 1000 people, with one red light and several stores and churches. I did live in town once, but have been out in the country for most of my life. I enjoy seeing the deer, bears, and other wildlife as well as the great views! Still much of the area is untouched and the roads are travelled but not like turnpikes! People still wave when you go by, and friends still help each others in times of need and emergencies. I can take a ride for about 5 minutes from the house and see bald eagles swoop down to the Delaware River to grab a fish! Guess I'll always be a Country Boy!!
