91 F-150 engine codes.....

Here are the codes i am getting...18-41-53-31-32-33
I understand that 31-32-33 have to do with the EGR valve. I have no vacuum going to the EGR valve. I am going to replace the vacuum switch that feeds vacuum to it.
Code #53 has to do with the Throttle position sensor. I have a volt-meter and will test it and most likely replace it also.
Code#41 is the oxygen sensor with a lean indication. Is it possible i am getting this reading because of the other parts being bad? Or should i replace the oxygen sensor also?
Code #18 is in CM Ignition Diagnostic Monitor circuit failure or spout circuit grounded. This is the one thats putting me over the edge LOL. I am clueless on that one. Thank you for your help......Chuck

Yes.. ignore code 41 it's caused by a lean condition it is NOT an O2 sensor code. Code 18 could be saying you forgot to replace the spout plug.. or that the spout plug is not doing it's job and completing the circuit. Fix your EGR and possible TPS problems, clear the codes and try again.

Thanks Conanski, that was a quick response. What is a "spout plug"? LOL! I just looked in the back of my Haynes manual for spout plug and couldn't find anything. Thank you for the help. I'm headed to the driveway with book and volt-meter in hand......Chuck

The spout plug is the little gray plug on the TFI harness you have to pull to set the timing. All it does is open the complete the circuit between the TFI and computer..

I replaced the TPS yesterday. It made a big difference. The engine runs smooth again. I was trying to buy the switch that sends vacuum to the EGR, but i didn't know what it is called so i am going to remove it and take it there to get what i need. The girl behind the parts counter was as helpful as she could be, but could not understand "2-hose 2-wire vacuum switch thing connected to the EGR valve".
Thanks ...... Chuck
