I hate to say this....

I hate to say this to ya, but last winter I decided to put a set of studs on my 75 F 100 2 wheel drive.....Never got stuck once, and I work on a farm where there is usually a good 2 feet of snow drifted up before they plow it....
I guess they don't make 'em like they used to, eh?

P.S. My truck has a factory posi in the rear axle...

1975 Ford F100 Custom
Beautiful Dark Green Metallic paint (oiginal color)
302 V8 (original motor) C4 auto, 37,000 miles on it...
HAIL TO THE "DENTSIDE" FORDS!!!!!

Future project?? fix the rust !!!

yeah snow on fairly flat ground is different than a 2 foot hole in the ground full of water, but lockers or posi front and rear and some better tires might have got out, not that those tires are bad, just something more aggressive

That's a pretty impressive stuck.

Which Hummer did you make it past? The h2? lol

Hey Danmansjimmy, will you either post or PM me a pic of your Coopers? I have a set of the BFG AT T/A KOs on my truck, and while they're freakin' aggressive, I see a set of the STs on a Silverado quite often and really like that tread pattern. Can you give me the pros and cons to 'em? Can you compare them to the KOs?

With a rear tire in the air your f100 would be waiting for the old John Deere to come and tow its *** out!!

well its not gonna stop me from goin out in the mud ...just next time i think i might bring the comalong

Did the same thing about 10 years ago, except I was about 30 miles from anything, No cell signal and it was raining like hell. And nobody knew I was out there. Will never do a stupid thing like that again.

If you check my galleries you will see that I ran both the KO's and the Discoverer ST's on my red 04 and then the ST's (with studs) on my 06. Other than being a bit quieter on the highway and a little better in snow and icy conditions there is no upside to the KO's. The Coopers for me were a better tire all around.

You may also notice that my current 04 has a set of Pro Comp All Terrains. That is reflective of the fact that virtually all my driving today is on pavement and I simply wanted a quieter tire which would get better fuel economy. Snow will be with us here any day now and I will be able to see how they actually work in snow (they do have the snow tire emblem on them). BTW if you check it out you will find that all the Pro Comp tires are manufactured by Cooper.

Thanks dave, I appreciate it! I'll take a look. How were the KOs in the mud compared to the STs? The tire folks down here keep telling me "the KOs have 10% less traction than the KM2s" That doesn't help me much if the STs have, say, 5% less traction than the KMs lol.

I will be trying our the KOs in some deep stuff this weekend hopefully. I'll report back as my truck will be the only one that should be used as a recovery vehicle. Going out with a Jeep on Procomp MTs and a Ram with new LTX2s, possibly a Cherokee if he gets his LTX2s fixed (had a flat today), maybe a Silverado on bald tires, Z71 Tahoe, and a few other cars. Mine'll be the only truck with decent tires (KOs with like 8K miles on 'em).

Silver05, you coulda gotten water in your rear end . I recommend a flush anyway, especially if you were stuck for a long time. Water in the pumpkin doesn't do no good.

Hope it's just the parking brake though!
