Does anyone have a good test method for the blend door motor?

My truck (98 w/4.6) is the one that has no hot air blowing- so folks think the blend door has broken.

I pulled the blend door motor out (whatta pain) and nothing looks broken- no pieces fell out.

I plugged the wiring back into the motor and ran the truck through it's paces and never saw the motor shaft rotate like it was trying to open the blend door.

Bad motor itself?

Is there a better testing procedure?

 

where ya located. my buddy had the same trouble so i took his motor plugged in my truck and it worked. bad switch for sure. all you have to do to plug it in is pull the plastic cover off. if your close to southern ohio. bring it over best test i know of

If I only have the one truck to work with, how can I make sure it isn't just a switch problem?

I'd hate to buy the motor and it not work - just to then discover I need the switch.
