What a find 429 PI

Just sharing my find with the community, a few months ago my 15 yr old son and I bought his first truck! Its a 1978 F350 Super Cab, dana 60's front and rear, C6, A/C. factory delay wipers, cruise and no rust, it has a 429 in it and I checked the numbers yesterday, its a true police interceptor motor, block. heads, and intake all match to a PI motor. Does'nt smoke, starts instantly with no hiccups and appears to have never been opened up for any work. The oil pressure shoots up to high when cold but when at operating temps at idle it drops down to low, I'll hook up a "real" guage to the motor and get an actual reading to see what its doing, last night removed the stock FOMOCO carb and replaced it with a 750 Eddy, it really woke up the motor, it seems to run very strong and quiet. We paid 3600 for the truck, it came with a 1969 429 and a 1972 429, another NP205 t case and C6 tranny!

nice score for your son... hows he gonna afford the gas??? lol. my old man had a 76 F150 2wd with a 460. he sold it a couple of years before i got my drivers permit. i didnt want him to sell it but his view on it was "oh christ i cant afford the gas for it how d'you think you can?" lol. granted i grew up in "rural" smalltown manitoba so we had to drive no matter what you did. 13 miles to town everyday.
