95 lightning sd or is it mass

i know that this has been touched b4 and ill keep looking. can i convert to mass air using the 88 to 93 mustang computer assuming its not already. im not worried about the tranny because it not in stock truck and not using stock tranny. i just need to run the engine and the mass air conversion using the mustang computer seems to be the best way. let me tell you about my project. im putting a 95 lightning motor in my 65 f100 minuse tranny(tranny just wont fit to dam big) and havnt been able to get around making the computer work without the E4OD tranny. am i head in the right direction with this or is it all wrong.

You'd need to modify the harness a little, but a mustang ECU and harness would work since you're using a non-electronic transmission.

A stock GEN 1 Lightning engine harness is wired for speed density. It is possible to re-pin the harness to change the injector firing order from batch fire to sequential and then add the wires for an air meter. You'll need to lengthen the wires for the ACT sensor, somewhere near the air filter would be ideal.
Another option would be a conversion harness. I use an E4OD MAF conversion on my GEN 1 Lightning and it works works fine. You can also purchase a conversion harness for a non electronic transmission as well and I believe it utilizes an ECU from the A9L family.

That's the other option I'm refering to; the MAF conversion from FFI's website. It may cost a little more up front, but it is supposed to be a plug-n-play type system.
