This is a great build chase.......ya' see I'm wanting to do a small UK only, I think, 2.7Liter twin-turbo diesel with auto tranny switch sometime.........the one the 2005 & up X-type Jaguar uses........I now have a 351 Cleveland in my '79 F100, I figure the lit'l one will increase my MPG loads & still pull my F100 well....

That could be a cool little motor! You guys get all the sweet diesel stuff over there already. We really have slim pickins for diesel powered cars over here. Plus it's only been in the last 10 years or so that the diesel trucks have become "popular"

yeah but now the Mercedes have that bluetec deal, i hope that is a sign that diesels will become more and more popular here.

FINALLY! My buddy has been buying Mercedes and other diesels from Nevada and bringing them in for the last few years. The RebubliK of BS over here in Kalifornia is one of the few states not allowing many of these cars

MBs web site says they are 50 state legal, but who knows how true that is....but i agree that we really do shoot our selves in the foot when it comes to a lot of this stuff....

Unfortunately no. I've been slacking.

Pretty much got NOTHING done on it this week.

Earlier in the week I was building something for a friend. Then I continued to rip apart the Dodge a bit more seeing as I have a guy coming tonight for some parts. Last night I went to get Suzy's x-mas present and had dinner with a buddy.

Before I knew it the week was gone and I had done NOTHING.

I will hopefully get a bit done tonight, but most likely I will be tearing apart the dodge some more.

I hope to get something done this weekend but we'll see. I was supposed to take Suzy camping, but she found out she has to work so I'll be here. I did promise a buddy I'd head over to help with a cab swap on Saturday though.

Also - work on the crew MIGHT come to a screeching halt here soon. I just signed a lease for my shop space and I take it over starting Dec. 1st. I will have to wire that shop and remove a portion of a wall, etc. So that will take time away from the crew.
My plan in the mean time is to pull the motor back out again so I can finish welding the motor mounts and also box that front cross member. I will then bolt the motor back in and will be doing smaller projects on it until I can put the crew in the new shop. I don't want to take the motor over separate from the crew.
Hopefully I will be able to finish the steering box upgrade before I am out of here, but we'll see. I just took on a job making a couple gates for a buddy, so that will take time from me working on the crew. Although it will help pay for the crew parts - so it is both good and bad.

How was that for a long arsed answer to a short question?????

Thanks for the offer on both!

Saturday I have to hit McFaddendale (so that's before noon) and then head out to Ed's to help him with the cab. He might be headed out to the BBQ - I'll have to ask him on that. Not sure though seeing as he did say he was swapping the cabs that day.

If you think about it - shoot me a call on Saturday to see what's going on.

Not only more work, but more pictures!

There should be rules about posting tech in a build thread and not having a picture with it

Hey guys. So I guess I got screwed out of another weekend. I headed out to 75F350's shop yesterday to help with a cab swap and when I went to leave I couldn't get home! There are so many fires around here I really couldn't get from his place to mine due to dang near every freeway being closed. I had to take a 1 hour detour south and ended up at my dad's place for today. Now I'm trying to figure out how the heck I'm going to get home today

So unfortunately no work on the Mutt is getting done this weekend

There is 1 good thing to come out of this mess though - I found a new throttle cable I needed for $16 at a local stealership!

I'm back - as of late last night.

The smoke wasn't bad at my dad's or up here from what I've heard. It's just they closed 2 of my 3 freeway choices to get home and the 1 of 3 that was open was a parking lot.

Now if I can get some work done tonight I'll be happy...
