Unfortunately they burn up and fall apart, Have used many hundreds of them.

Keep them free of contaminants, they get dirty, make bad connections and burn.

But they are handy!

I have never used this style connection before. I was considering using the tweco or jackson welding cable connectors but had 5 or 6 females and only 1 male connector...

I used the plastic ones because the local place had them on the shelf, but would rather change directions now if they are an issue.

As far as keeping the plastic, Anderson style ones clean - they do sell the plastic "caps" to put on them when they are not in use and I was planning on getting those. I would think those would keep them clean.

Those caps are more of a pain then their worth, but yea the do help keep em clean.

If your going to mount them perm, mega fuse them and HIDE THEM!!!!

Some jerk wads like to cut the covers and and toss em.
I've even had jerks short em out frying everything.

I just don't understand some people.

Good thought on the fuse!

I had never though of people messing with them, but I wouldn't put it past the idiots out there in the world today.

I don't get why people would purposely screw up other people's property, but then again I come from the land of "tagging" and crap like that is just accepted as the norm now-a-days

I know where you are, Thats why I pointed it out ...

My company service truck burnt to the ground because some jerk stuffed a pipe into them.
This was ~30 years ago though!

I would imagine things are worse today than 30 years ago

The rear one was definitely gonna be hidden up in the frame rail behind the bumper, but I was going to leave the front one by the grill. Maybe I'll just keep it coiled up and tucked away in the engine compartment now.

So back in the shop last night I felt like I got a lot done. Looking back today it doesn't seem like so much - haha

I finished fitting and tacked in the 1st IC side tube, then fit the 2nd one and tacked it

I then got to spend the remainder of the night doing one of my favorite pass - times...

WELDING

Not sure how much I'll get done in the shop tonight and I'm off to vegas to pick up the supercab and new fenders (have sets available for sale if anybody is interested), so I'll be lucky to even get time on this again Sunday.

I dont have actual pics of the fenders yat - but I will Monday. Until then - here is the "plug" in semi rough form. There were some slight changes made after these pictures - but you get the point.

For somebody outside of the desert realm - maybe so.

I still think cowl hoods look "strange" though and bushwhacker fender flairs or sawzalled fenders look like SHAITE - so to each their own

Nope.

I made the wide ones because a couple buddies and I wanted ones that were wider that what was currently offered.

Autofab makes ones that are 3" wider wheel opening and 3" flare out per side as well as ones with zero flare out, but just the 3" wider wheel openings.

Mine are 3" wider wheel opening and 5" flare out per side.
