I use a hamonic balance puller. It works just like a wheel puller.

Your local tool truck will have the appropriate puller, but if you do not wish to spend that kind of money, and a reasonable tool will get you by, you can purchase these wheel pullers from your local parts chain stores, like Autozone, and they also have a loan-a-tool program.

It's a handy tool kit to have around. Just the good ol' harbor freight harmonic bal. puller/steering wheel puller. I think the kit cost about $10 bucks or so?

i removed mine with out a puller. take off the center horn part with a phillips screwdriver. remove the center nut with a 1/2 drive ratchet and socket not sure on the exact socket size on the nut. once you get the nut off grab the wheel at the 10 and 2 positions 9 or above the center divider) on eithe side of the wheel brace your feet on the floor/firewall(depending on how tall you are) and pull on the wheel alternating pulling hands decently fast. ... (IE.. pull hard with left arm then let off and quickly pull hard with right arm do this 3 - 4 times and it should be in your hands and not on the colum). worked for me no puller necessary

its a 15/16" socket to remove the large nut in the center of the wheel... i do my "ford alignments" (move the steering wheel to center when i replace things like the rag joint and dont get it perfect") i grab the wheel at 12 and 6 and firmly pull on either hand separately until i work it off the splines... on our trucks the wheels arent pressed on as hard as they arent necessary to protect the ignition lock, since ours are on the dash.

hope this helps...

Rented a puller from Orielly's. Take back your receipt and get your deposit back.

Buy youself a steering wheel puller kit. They're cheap, easy to use, and you dont waste time jerkin your brains out if it dont wanna come off. And the next time you have to make an "allignment" you got it rite there.
