new mods.

Well I finally got my tuner today and installed it, my god what a difference. It made the old girl wake up. I even went to the pump to buy dino so I could see a little smoke show. Now I can smoke out the little rice burners around here. I also have my new 5" exhaust that should be here tomarrow, so looks like I'm gonna be installing that after class. Any pointers on that?

It should be a fairly simple process if you already have an aftermarket downpipe.

I've been doing a bit of thread searching trying to prepare myself for the exhaust install today, and I noticed all the complaints about the Diamond Eye exhausts. This makes me a little nervous considering thats the one I bought. I couldn't find any other prefab exhaust in 5", and I thought the price was right. I hope I don't regret being cheap.

dont let it scare ya. my buddy just put one on and he had to permanently remove his spare tire and one of the hangers were off a little but you could fudge it with a new longer rubber from an auto parts store. good luck

A friend of mine used to work in an exhaust shop. He always said that those pre-fabed kits were a joke. They never lined up like they supposed to and what not. I guess it just depends on what brand you get though. Nothing you can't handle with a MIG and some patience.

Well, I started looking at it, and got the feeling I was trying to bite off more than I could chew, so I called the boys up at apple hill 4x4 and I'm gonna have them install it. I need a guarantee that it will be done in a day cause this is my daily driver, and I'm not confident I'll get it done in a day. Plus they have 5" exhaust and fab skills if things need some workin over. Now to decide what tip to buy

Why did you go to 5 inch when you had 4 inch? You wont see any gains, or loss of egt. IMO you just threw away some money that could have ent to a intercooler or those injecotrs to make use of the mods you have....

I wanted a more throaty sound and hear a bit more whistle, and my tail pipe got bent in when my old lady backed into somethin, my local shop wanted $120 just to bend a new tailpipe piece, so I decided to upgrade. Injectors are on there way, just gotta find time, maybe when the construction season slows down.

He's got enough exhaust he shoudn't have to worry with his tuner.

But I would do guages before i would do any sort of injector or fuel mods.

guages are next no doubt, I admit they should have come before the tuner but I got over anxious. I guess when I do them I'll even put it in the exhaust manifold. What size tap do I need?

depends on the size of your pyro probe. i cant recall the numbers but if you have the tap set you should have a guide with it.
5" will benefit if he's going for big power, like over 400-450 hp. at that point you'll produce enough Exhaust gas to use the extra diameter.
Let me/us know how the install goes on the diamond eye. i've been looking at those myself.
