What is the diameter of a 2005 XLT 4.6 F-150 tail pipe? My friend wants to put a clamp on tip and needs to know the diameter? I thought it was 2.5 but I could be wrong?

 

You are correct. The exhaust pipe is 2.5 inches in diameter

stating the obvious, why doesn't your friend pull out a tape and measure it himself? Because you never know if there might be a slight difference.

I used to have a Gibson clamp on tip for on my truck (5.4V8). I know from other posts on another forum that there were minor differences in the tailpipe diameter. I believe mine was 2.75 inches.

 

I think its hilarious when I see a add on exhaust tip that sticks out about 6-8" beyond the tire! Thats a tripping hazard!
