My old truck was a 2001 Supercrew Lariat that was my fathers (R.I.P.), for that reason alone I miss this truck. It was also a damn good truck 128,000 miles and not a single problem.

I will have to say “Yes” I do miss my 97 F150 s/cab short. I traded it on a whim with 101,000 and not a da** thing wrong. Wish somebody would have talked some sense into me. Don’t get me wrong, I like the 04 Lariat, but my 97 was my baby. All original brakes until 86,000, charged AC once and replace a switch on the brake pedal is all I did to that truck. It also ran great and looked good, a silver that never really looked dirty. And yes, I had no payments…

The first old truck is an 01 Ranger XLT 3.0. It was real nice but I don't miss how narrow the inside was or how light the back end was in rain. But the OLD truck for me was the '94 150 S/cab 5.0L monochrome white flareside. Now that's a truck to miss. I figured that I was the fourth owner and at 127,000 mi. lots of things were starting to happen to it. Neither of those trucks hold a candle to the 08 regular cab, equiped just the way I want it. Still, the '94 was really nice and it had one feature my 08 doesn't-it was paid for!
Good thread, I've enjoyed reading it and thinking about the old one.

yes.

my 03 scab super duty 6.0 was bad ***.
6" lift, 35" tires, a tuner.... smoke from all four wheels if you wanted.

this 06 150 fx4 is a turd by comparison (ok, no camparison needed, it is slow as hell). i hate not having enough power to pass, or the fact it shifts at all the wrong times going up hill, then bogs it's *** off in the next gear...

looks neat, but squeeks all over inside from the tiawan craftsmanship. these trucks are not built ford tough, they are built ford cheap anymore. but hey, what do you expect for a measly $37,000 ?????? (im a little pissed, my IWE took a **** on me yesterday, 67k)

can we at least be a little realistic. these trucks are very well built and have plenty of power. obviously they won't win any dragraces

Unfortunately you're not the only one that did this and thought it was funny. That guy in the Porsche was probably a law maker or a lawyer friend of one. This kind of behavior, more than anything, contributed to legislation for low sulphur diesel fuel and emission controls and one of the reasons that Diesel fuel is almost $1.00 more than regular unleaded now.

Way to go . . . .

I miss my 2000 Reg Cab. As the family grows, so does the need for a 2008 Scab. I do admit, the more I drive my new Scab the less I miss my Reg Cab.

Well, like a fool I gave in to the old lady's threats of leaving me and sold my old Bronco Bobcat. She got sick of the muddy driveway after my weekend swims in the mudholes. Those old Broncos are tough as nails, mine was 351W powered with 3" lift and 33'' Mud Terrains. Sometimes I think I got rid of the wrong one! LOL!!

Do i miss my 98 f150 xcab V6,,Sometimes, saw it the other day with 300,000 miles on the clock and still in great condition, driver said same tranny and ac blowing cold as always. Loved that V6, hauled whatever i threw at it.

Do I miss my '96 Ranger 3.slow Liter, with the 4wd that went out after 30k miles and never worked again (no matter who, or which dealership tried to fix it), and with the cab that was designed by someone not even close to as large as I am.......

No I do not! I absolutely love my '05 SCAB FX4, it is the best vehicle that I have ever owned.

I did get over 250K miles out that Ranger though, it was a perfect vehicle for me during the college years. On second thought, maybe I do miss that truck a little. I have a feeling that I'm going to start talking about this Ranger like my father does his '75 Bronco.

Yeah I miss my 01 F-250 V10. It was paid off but I had to refinance cause of my divorce. Figured if I'm going to have a truck payment I'm going to upgrade. My 08 F-150 is great though. More comfortable, more room and nearly twice the gas mileage.

I had an 03 SCrew before my 05 but it was 2wd, loved that truck. I had it modded up pretty good and when I moved there became a need for 4wd so I had to change. I wish I never had to sell it but I have to admit I do really like the 05

I've had several different pickups of my own, but the one I miss (which was not mine - but I drove it) was an old 1984 F250 with the optional (don't beat me if I get this wrong) 460 in it. That truck could do anything. Drove it for landscaping in the Summer and plowing in the Winter.

I think that my new 2008 F150 Super Crew reminds me of that truck more than my old Ford F150 Supercab, my Chevy 1500K or my Titan did. Except it is more comfortable. But I do have some really good memories from that truck. Nothing like being out at 3:00 AM getting coffee at a 7-11 in a blizzard (or the tail end of one).
