ESOF Question....
I noticed the other day that when I turn my front wheels sharply (pulling into a parking spot for example) I was getting a little grind and thumping feel.
Kinda like turning at slow speed in 4WD.....
A pal of mine mentioned to put the truck in 4Hi and then switch it back to 2WD and see if the noise goes away. I tried it and the noise and grinding feel did go away.
SO, is this going to be an on-going issue? Is this why guys change out the front hubs?
Thanks!
Joe

Question 1 was the truck in 4WD in the recent past?
2nd has the auto hub assembly been serviced in the last 10-15K?
3rd is the truck in and out of 4WD often (as in once every few weeks even for only a few feet)?
If you answered yes to 1, no to 2 and 3 then you may have a hub sticking.
If you answered yes to 1 and 3 and no to 2 then you may have a hub sticking.
If you answered no to 1 and 3 and yes to 2 then you may have a problem that need checked.
If you answered no to all questions then you need them checked.
Grinding and thumping in 2wd is not normal even if the truck has been in 4wd and has been driven and backed up just a few feet.
Hope that helps

Rod,
I don't use the 4WD often and it hasn't been in 4WD for several weeks. I only use it when I'm in some soft ground area that forces me use the 4WD.
It is funny that as soon as I put it in 4WD and then took it out, the noise/vibration stopped.
Yeah Dave...it does suck....but I guess I may not have much choice.
