Whenever I got over bumps, esp. real sharp bumps, like a pothole I hear this metal on metal clank the comes from my bed/rear of the truck each time. I have absolutely nothing back there in the bed at all. At first I thought it might be something with my tonneau conver, but I took that off yesterday and it still make that sound. Any ideas?
Make sure the spare tire isn't loose. Remove the tailgate to elimate it as a possible source of noise. Crawl underneath, grab the shocks and give them a shake. Check the bolts that hold the box to the frame. My old '86 F-150 made a clunk that echoed through the bed. Lubricating the leaf springs with spray grease made it go away. Good luck.
my trucks does the same thing too....and when your driving at 160 kilometers per hour the side panels of the box on the outside flutter in the wind....
anyone have an issue with the passenger door rattling on their truck? Sound to me like some weather strip missing, or a latch not closing all the way. Drivers door (s) dont make a sound. This is a standard cab long bed 150.
