it is neck snapping... even breaking. spedo/OD works. keyless entry works just dont push the panic button have to disconnect batts to get it to shut up

there were me and 2 others bidding on the truck (small auction) and they were not interested in making an old diesel run.. the notes on it at the auction said it did not run nor try to start. 2 new batteries and a starter presto...........you gotta diesel.

ok got it narrowed down it has a bad injector tore valve covers off and started unplugging injectors one at a time until i found the one that made no change in the way it ran. no codes no prob with tranny it has just has the crap upgraded out of it truck could prob explode and this tranny would still shift just fine........BANG.......just hit overdrive

Well, it shouldn't be neck snapping when shifting though. That's not necessarily good for the drive train. haha

Might want to check the valves in there if your any good at that kinda stuff. They might be sticking. I can't believe that its being that stiff shifting.

i know it cant be good for the drive train......much less my back. but we checked everything in the tranny.....running codes............pulled the pan......it has just had the fire modified out of it though. we did get the reg. dex/merc out of it and put the synthetic dex/merc in it and it did soften up a bit to the point it does not scare you when it shifts.

i am going to put injectors in it.. I just dont feel comfortable just putting 1 in it

I know this is my first stroker i have owned, even though i have worked on alot of them.... but never anything within the engine or its controls.... mainly a/c, power steering brackets...ETC, due to THE FACT THAT THE OLDER IH DIESELS NEVER DIE. my 89 7.3 was the first IH diesel i ever saw croke and send parts everywhere while the A/C was still blowing like a freezer(now i see 6.0's die alot but i aint goin there) but got the valve covers off and ill be darned if the top(i guess it is the solenoid) of one of the injectors is laid over like it was blowed off so thus explain why this thing is cooky going down the road but im suprised that the engine would run smooth at an idle(in my opinion at least all i have ever owned is IDI's and they have all jiggled at an idle so i guess i thought this was normal) thanks for yalls help on this and all the input...Sam

O sorry i forgot to ask so yall gotta a recommended place to get injectors new or rebuilt or know someone who rebuilds them? reasonable price. i know where can get injectors for a IDI new but they dont carry powerstroke injectors. i want stock built injectors, i want the 90cc or 100 whatever they are. i dont want something with more fuel output that i have got to worry about EGT's, call me a pansy i dont care. I want something that i can say is stock when i give it to my kids(not married yet though) like this stock N/A 6.9L diesel, except the alternator:

Well, Rosewood_diesel has rebuilt's, but it's somewhat expensive to do it that way.
Edit: they have pretty good prices, but the core charge isnt very nice...

Yep they sure will.
click on the link i left in the last post, and go to "injectors"
they'll do a budget build for $475, and that's stock rebuild.
