Air Conditioner Works Well Sometimes

Air Conditioner Works Well Sometimes
My air conditioner works well about half the time. Ford replaced the evaporator core under warranty. This helped a little. I brought it back and they did three tests and found nothing wrong, because it was working well that particular day. The 2000 F-150 has 27,000 miles. Can anyone help me with this?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-Oct-02 AT 09:54 AM (EST)]A coupla thoughts: Check the clutch on the compressor. If it is disengaging more than it should, you will have poorer A/C.
If you have access to gauges, check the hi-side and lo-side pressures.
You have to document the what-when-where of the poorer performance to have any chance of getting it fixed. Several components can make the compressor cut off. 1)WOT-wide open throttle switch. gives full power for acceleration. 2)CCOT low pressure cycling switch to prevent freeze-up of the evaporator. 3) failing clutch- gap too big- intermittent open in clutch coils, 4)loose connections to the clutch-check for constant voltage 5) loose connnections in the control head in the dash 6)flaky over-pressure cutout switch may be 'protecting' the system from hi pressure that isn't high.
