rough idle

hey guys I have a 95 7.3 powerstroke. I've had this problem for awhile but its starting to get real bad. it runs great going down the road and pulling trailers but like driving in a parking lot or something like that where you put a slight load on it then let off ( 5 speed) it will sit there and clatter and shake and sound like its going to die then will smooth out after a couple seconds (usually) also say when you come to a stop light and throw it in neutral and let off the gas. its worse when the engine is up to running temp... runs real smooth when you first fire up in the mornings. in the past few months it has had rebuilt heads, new ipr and icp put on. it did this before the overhaul though and has progressively gotten worse. I have ran injector cleaner a few times but hasn't helped. has anyone ever heard of the cam position sensor causing anything like this? maybe a bad injector? oh yea it has a new fuel filter. its my welding truck and it sounds terrible driving around job sites

Mine Has Been Doing This. It Almost Sounds Like A Mild Racing Cam In It. It Dont Do It When Its Cold Just Warm. I Have Ran 2 Or 3 Tanks Of Stanadyne Through It And 2 Cycle Engine Oil And It Seems To Be Getting A Little Better. Im Sure Someone Here Will Be Able To Give Us An Answer. I Changed The Oil And Fuel Filter And All That Good Stuff But Didnt Help It.

You say you have a manual tranny? It's possible you have a dual mass flywheel going bad. Just a guess.

High pressure oil crossover line. It runs from one head to the other to equalize HP oil in both heads.

I have to agree with above mine went through the same thing DMF, and a new clutch and flywheel cured her. Might be something else but sure sounds like your DMF flywheel is going south.

X2 on the HPX
Also, make sure your oil level is high enough. a while back i was drawing air into the HPOP while running and it would do exactly that.

I dont think he said miss,he said shake and clatter. Mine was pretty bad the holes on the dual mass were egg shaped and the springs wore flat and half through. She shook bad enough you would think half the plug wires were pulled off a 454. Then she would smooth out for a while,it was like part of the fly was staying particialy out throwing every thing off ballance, the whole truck would rock. Like I said above might be something else just giving my opion on what I have run into from the discription he is giving . I have never had a pressure problem with hpop or low oil still running original o-rings and injectors on 95.

How Long Does The Flywheel Last If It Starts To Shake. Mine Shakes A Little And Rattles A Little When I Turn The Key Off.
