will this work?

I have a 61 econo pickup. I have access to I think an early 90's ford ranger, whatever year it is it has a straight front axle, and I am thinking it may have an 8" rear end? will the axles fit my econo? width wise?

No,
The Ranger is 54/56"...The econo is 60.5".Here is a link to an article that states the width of an Explorer, I don't know the points he used to measure. Hope this helps. If I can figure how to post a picture, I have a spec sheet on the econo truck,WB,length,etc..Bill

The Ranger PU never had a straight front axle. Twin I beams, then the SLA deal later. Rear axles were 7.5 then 8.8, not the old drop out 8" like early '60s Falcons/Mustangs etc.
