I found mine at the local junkyard for 20 bucks, i see them on ebay from time to time but the prices tend to get pretty ridiculous IMO.

Western Jr. (aka West Coast) Swing-Lock mirrors are the type that are classified as high profile mirrors, that is...the upper bracket bolts above the vent window, the lower bracket bolts below the vent window.

These mirrors once common, are rarely seen after 1974.

If this is the type you want, I'll look around the internet obsolete sellers for some.

I also can search every Ford dealers parts inventory in the US.

Here's the part number...If I locate these, I will post the info here.

D3TZ17696B (replaced D3TZ-17696-A) / Stainless West Coast Mirror Kit = 2 required / Mirror Head is 5" x 9" / Third Arm Type / Mirror head available separately: C7TZ17723A

Let me see if anyone has these mirrors, brb...take about 5 minutes.

greensalescompany.com = 0 / more info coming...

Dennis Carpenter shows one L/H PAINTED mirror: D3TZ17696E This is a 3 arm mirror, but is a slightly different style. The mirror head is 6 1/2" x 9 1/2"

I found one D3TZ17696A at a Ford dealer in UT / D3TZ17696A was replaced by D3TZ17696B. Same mirror, different part number.

still looking

I emailed you the dealer info for the one mirror I found. The dealer's located in UT, just noticed you are too.

Mirrors are the same right/left. This mirror is the stainless type I mentioned earlier.

That's all I coud find for 1973/79, sorry.

EDIT: I did find a complete kit for 1967/72 (C7TZ17696E).

This kit has both mirrors and all the attaching parts...but will it fit the 1973/79 doors?

The upper bracket won't be a problem, either will the support arm, but the lower bracket may not fit the 1973/79 door correctly because of its different contour.

I'll email you this info too.

Call the dealer, get the price and ask if he'll ship it.

btw: The reason I sent you the info by email is...if I listed it here, someone might beat you to the mirrors...something to think about.

I made that mistake early on, by the time the original poster called the source, the part was gone.

I only list parts if there's more than one, otherwise I contact the member.

I edited your quote above, I suggest you go back and edit the original post.

You have one hour to do so.

Original new parts may be hard to find, as in the case of the mirrors.

Look at my gallery of the 1966 I have. If am fairly certain these are what you are referring to. We might be able to work something out. I want a cleaner (non-work truck look) and will be taking these off in the near future and filling in all the holes left by these mirrors.

later
