Just a few quick questions. Why did you cut the top of the radius arm off? For clearance? Are you going to put anything back in it's place?
I love your truck, I'd love to have one that layed frame. One day I will.

i cut the raidus arms because i thought that just notching it up a little bit would allow the steering linkage to clear. I was wrong. i ended up having to z my steering linkage some 3 or 4 inches down in order for it not to hit the frame. Now there is no clearence issues with the radius arms. I have the peice to weld back in, just havent gotten around to it. I will eventually.

valves, compressors, switchbox, are all wired in. I built a battery box and welded it to the frame, mounted all that stuff. my sheet metal bed floor is 95% finished, i need to make 1 small panel and line it.

the biggest thing is finishing the electrical. It may be an old truck, with no electronics, but my brain doesnt function to the tune of electronics. Id be willing to pay anyone 50 bucks to get the electrical taken care of for me, ill supply all the tools and parts.

just found this thread and got to say love your work. it takes a lot of talent to take a rusty bondo like that and turn it into a show stopper. sucks that you have to grind and weld on your painted frame (i would have to cry if i did that).

ok work on the truck will continue. I got a steady job to pay the bills(that just so happens to be building 1 off super customs (mainly bikes) for a bad *** whos been doing it for over 40 years.) Hes going to teach me how to do things correctly. I tried on my own and failed. My frame is good in the rear. its strong, it has possible weak points, But i think it will be ok. Im clipping the front finally and doing away with the Ibeams, after all that freaking work. talk about a pain in my ***.
(note that im selling some 4 inch drop beams, with or with out bag mounts welded to them your choice. along with full BRAND NEW disk brakes from hub to hub. All new calipers, bearings, rotors, pads, hardware everything you need to run a drop beam disk brake set up. asking 700 OBO have reciepts for 1100)

anyways, im using an LTD clip found a whole car for 100 bucks, just waiting to go pick it up. Power rack and pinion ifs front end here i come. Ill be building all of my own control arms out of 1.25 OD .120 wall DOM tubing and using moog ball joints for the spindles and bushings to attach it to the frame.

So the guys that gave me hell before for my design efforts. I appreciate it. But it took me working for someone who knew what they where doing to stand there with me and say this doesnt work, because of this, and this is why.

on the right track again. BUT in other news. got all the glass put back in, and the interior of the cab is getting put back together. the new bed has been completely metal worked and is awaiting primer. i hope to spray it this weekend, ill post some pictures if i can.

Make sure you get lots of pics of the clip install! Sounds like it's gonna be pretty awesome. Congrats on the new job too!
