Sadly, not even Duct Tape will stick to an oily block. Not to mention, I took out just too much of the block anyway.

The trick is to wrap the tape around the block so that it sticks to itself!!! What kind of shade tree mechanic are you??? SHEEESSHH! LOL. Buddy of mine ran his little 4 banger Grand Am into a creek that had come over the road one time and had all the fluids changed and flushed in hopes that it would survive. It ran okay for about 3 weeks and then he called me asking me to tow him home because something was making noise in the engine. I got him home and crawled under the car and found that the noise was 2 rods that had escaped the block and make holes as big as my fists.

Take a close look of the picture of the bottom of my block and note that I'd have to build a new oil duct as well. The hole in the block is the easy part. The inside is next to impossible, though there is always custom molded J-B Weld.

Well aware of that fact as I have had 6 7.3 PSDs. 2 95s, 2 97s, a 2000 and a 2001. Love the 7.3L. No offense but I wouldn't take a 6.0L if someone gave it to me. My brother in law's 04 with the 6.0L burned a hole in a piston at 62K miles and it is bone stock.

We all have our opinions, but I LOVE my 6.0.

Thats the great thing about this country we live in. I wasn't trying to talk down on the 6.0....I just don't care for them and I don't think you probably took offense to it...at least I hope you didn't. It doesn't matter to me who likes what or why.

Nope, no offense. It don't bother me cause I know my 6.0 will smoke any of your 7.3's At least until I loose another oil pump!!!!!!

LOL! Yeah...my trucks actually have to work though. If I blow the bottom end out of my truck I can't work so I leave mine fairly stock. My 97 4x4 reg cab 5spd that I had didn't run too bad for just having bolt ons. I had a Stage 2 AFE intake, Banks 3" Stainless downpipe, strait pipe exhaust and a SCT tuner bumping power 80hp. Not really a fast truck but with a 5spd, all the mods, and 4.10s it would pull a mountain. Going fast is nice and all and I have had hot rods but for a work truck that has to run, I will stick with the 7.3L......they last longer with fewer problems. The 6.0 isnt a bad motor but it doesn't last very long at high hp levels. My work trucks usually just get the muffler cut off, a drop in K&N and a tuner.

Well, really, that all depends on the supporting mods. There's many out there running 600+ and working daily with no issues, I just didn't do anything for the oil system which is critical to these.

Do that to a '05 up 6.0L and work it, it'll last just as long. Get 700+ out of either the 6.0 or 7.3 and it won't last so long.
