Well I do appreciate all the input guys. Im thinking my title clerk told me the cost for my tags to go to 9200 is like 170.00yr i could be wrong. I know i just titled my f-350 crew and one ton tags 192.0 or dang close to it. I am glad to know I dont need to worry about weigh scales thats cool... Now another question in that regard when driving on interstates and what not if the sign says NO TRUCKS LEFT LANE is that us too?? or just big rigs. I know someone knows something on this.

Just big trucks, not pickups. You can drive in the left lane all you want, but you might **** off some people. lol

In the south, in GA, the signs say, "no more than six wheels left two lanes". Going around ATLANTA, suggest you stay out of the left two lanes with an F-350 dually with a trailer behind you. I have seen the officers counting for some folks on his left and right hand. As info.

You can use the left lane, just don't sit in it...it is for passing only! In FL, if you travel in the left lane and are not overtaking other vehicles, you can get cited.

My registration here in Southern California for the 1st year was $855 + $447 for the CVRA sticker that says I'm legal to be at 20,000 GCVR. At 1st I only got the sticker to be at 15,000 but I paid the extra $150 to bump it up ti 20,000 so I wouldn't have to worry when going through the scales. Kep in mind though sometimes I get jobs with no water or hydrant hook ups so I have to pull the trailer loaded (740 Gallons of Water + Machine + toolboxes)

Has CA changed?? The scales use to have signs that said "NO PICKUPS". When I ran my hotshot w/ f350 I never stopped.

As far as gvwr vs registered gvw that is nothing new with the 08's, it's the way it has always been.

I forget the numbers now, but when I bought my '98 Dodge Dually, the dealer registered it for a weight that was actually lower than the empty weight of the truck!

And about those "Left Lane - No Trucks" signs - it will depend on how hungry the lawman is that day more than anything else.

As for California, since my truck is a flatbed and has a GVWR rating of over 10,000 lbs and is used for my business I have to have a CA # and a MC # on the side of the truck. I am required to stop at the scales even without my trailer.

I'm also required by law to be enrolled in the random drug testing program
Carry a log book if I travel over 100 miles from by base
And if I'm pulling my trailer I have to have a Commercial Driver's License (Class A) for the following reasons.....

Truck and trailer is over 40' combined (43' to be exact)
Truck and trailer have GVWR ratings of over 10,000 Lbs each (Truck 13,000 & Trailer 14,000)

Ken
ken, here in NC boats and RV's (travel trailers) are exempt. equipment trailers, landscape trailers, and livestock trailers require the towing vehicle to have weighted tags. i have my truck rated at 20,000lbs since i occasionally pull skid steers/mini excavators. if i werent pulling that much weight, i'd probably just get tags rated for the truck's GVWR instead of the combined CGWR. i'm not sure about the senator and his boat, but i do know that they are cracking down on over width trailers. meaning you can't tow anything over (i think 80") after dark or on weekends. i heard of guys leaving the big rock marlin tournament getting pulled over and cited since some of their boat trailers are too wide. that's crazy. they supposedly have several patrolmen lined up, knowing there will be several to pull over.

I would bet in a couple months you would've been notified from Pa that title was not correct and has to be corrected! Pa is VERY good on weights and title ratings,,,, also VERY slow!

Dude:
That's not so bad, I live in southern PA, have an F450. Tags are $355 for the lowest GVW, next higher was $405, I said no thanks, I'll take the $355 tag.
