So kris the parts list you gave me for the motor are those factory size vavles or am i gonna have to get the heads machine? Engine newb i am. Im gonna look into the carsbycarl kits but im sure its gonna be more work than im after. My guess would be that my D3 heads wont work and that illl need a huge carb

D3s will support 600hp+ with a max effort port and polish - not your back yard "hey Im going to port my heads" attitude. Street 545s, from what I understand, need about a 950cfm carb to really shine above 4000rpm.
A 545 with real good ported D3s (D0ves PIs or CJs would be better) victor intake and Holley 950HP would make 600hp 650ft lbs fairly easy. Talk to ScottyJ for a cam recommendation and help porting the heads.
Id seriously consider the Street brawler short block from Carl. There are numerous oiling modifications that need to be done to the block plus machine work. Youre really getting your moneys worth at $2450 vs $1350 for the kit alone.
but remember those are I beam rods and hyper pistons = no juice....not even a little bit.

Im nto gonna run the juice at all. but about the motor george formally had am i gonna have to get head work done to fit the vavles? Ive only got about $2200 to spend on the motor.
