go here Auto_Springs_2.5"_Leveling_Kit

install

buy your 35" tires and install

You can run a 35" tall tire, and 12.5" max width on stock rims.

don't forget to get a front end alignment also...otherwise you'll make the tires cup due to excessive camber (or is it caster?)

Leveling kit

Why do you need an alignment when putting a leveling kit on? Isnt it just a spacer that sits on top of strut? t
This shouldnt change the geometry or alignment.

yep, thats all there is to it. a 4" or 6" lift with 35" tires looks just fine. I personally prefer the look of the trucks with spacers alone. that, and the spacer is $70-80, and a lift kit is at least $1,500

the spacer pushes the lower control arm downward...this forces the outermost edge of the tire to edge "inward". if you don't get an alignment done, the outside edge of the tire will begin cupping and wear strangly.

I drove for at least 1,000 miles before getting an alignment. My tires were just starting to show the weird wear, so I finally got one done.

You are thinking of camber. The three components that are typically referenced in alignment discussions on these lifts:

"Toe"

"Caster"

"Camber"

Caster, Camber, Toe

With an AS or similar installed, the relative position of the tread moves to negative degrees (compared to 0* horizontal factory settings). To compensate this, you would adjust the camber to bring it back to horizontal.

I have an 06 F-150 S-Crew I put a Redi-lift "leveling" kit in the front ~2.5" at a very low cost ~ $200 I then added 17 X 8.5" Rims and LT 315-70/17 Yokohama Geolanders (~ 35"). Looks great, runs great!

Alignment

I guess that makes sense. I would assume though that a spacer on top of the strut would act just like a body lift wouldnt it?

nope, the lift that is generated is because it "pushes" the coil-over downwards. that in turn pushes the lower control arm down and viola, truck sits higher
