gauge bezel swap question

I have a 2005 XLT. I would like to find the dash/gauge panel out of an FX4 with similar miles and swap it in. Those FX4 units are pretty snappy looking.

Question is, can I take mine out and just plug an FX4 in? I'm inclined to say that I can, but I thought I better ask around first

I am no expert but I had a similiar situation in the 90's when my GMC was stolen. They gutted the interior and when the new dash/instruments were installed it had to be programmed by the dealer. The on board computer will not recognize the instruments.

well in my thought as long as your truck has all the same thing like a tach and temp battray and oil presure like the fx4 it should work but best thing to do do is call the dealer and ask the parts guy about it ...it would be a start

I was hoping someone had seen the back of these things and knew if the plugs and more importantly, the pins, were the same. I'll call the local stealership in a couple of days if I don't get anything definitive here. If I had to guess, I'd say it would plug and play. Thanks for weighing in.

I'll let y'all know what I find out...
