fuel filter

I dont spend much time this forum, but I have a question. What is the trick to changing the fuel filter, 04 lariat 4x4. Also what is the right filter? I have a fram that has the old style locks but the OEM has a rubber tube with a disconnect with a disconnect on the filter! it also has a 90deg elbow on the output side.

thanks in advance for any help

fram g8018 i beleive is the correct filter, and you will need a disconnect tool to remove filter, yeah the filter comes with the old push in locks for uses on other applications, the one end on your truck should be a steel quick connect and the other have a blue clip that you have to slide the release out till it stops then insert the quick connect tool to release it same as steel end. I hope this helps

^ Also dont forget you have to slide the line up a little to get the tool in there properly.

the fuel filter uses AC connectors. They run about $10 at the parts store. There are usually 5 different sized "chucks" on a board that comes as a kit.

are you sure you have the fuel filter for a 2004+ F-150, and not the 1997-2004 F-150
