My taxes were paid by the mortgage company...now that I've paid off the mortgage...they won't do that anymore!!!

Wrong Ken The chemicals in that Diet drink counter act the rest of the ingrediance Check into it..Just trying to save you from cancer..That crap is plain not good for you

Now with the mortgage paid off you will lose that tax deduction..

True on both counts. The interest that I was paying...along with the tax deduction...was not equal to the interest plus taxes on the interest. Thus the decision to rid myself of the burden. Now the mortgage payment goes into a Roth IRA. I can still deduct property taxes though.
