Ok here are some pics. I'll update the sig later.
These are before I removed the dealer tags/stickers, pinstriping and the faded "Midwest Edition" badges. Front windows get tint tomorrow.
Stock intake and the noise is with no CDs unless there was one left in there I didn't know about. I'll check that out first and then try removing the fuse for the radio power and see if the noise is still there. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks, yeah these new trucks are great! My 96 is still a solid truck, I hate to get rid of it, but it's starting to look like a used car lot around here.
I've got the 3yr/36K warranty. Dealer is sending me 2 new ovals and I'll put them on myself. As for the noise in the dash, some have it, some don't, a lot will eventually have it and sometimes it goes away. If it's still there or gets worse, dealer will make it right before the warranty is up, but couldn't tell me what causes it.
There wasn't a CD left in the changer and I haven't pulled the fuse yet.
Haven't driven it much until today and the noise is actually quieter or I'm getting used to it. It seems like it may be something with that plastic intake or filter box near the firewall somewhere. Is your plastic intake on top of the engine tight or does it move? Mine will move up an inch or so by hand. Don't know if that's it, I'll poke around some more and see what I find.

good to hear the dealer is sending you new ovals
I don't remember what my intake was like stock. I've still got it somewhere around here...maybe if I get motivated, I'll take a look-sie.
but movement doesn't sound right. might want to check and make sure the intake is securely mounted on the motor
