Beans fuel system.

well after the Government hands me my money back I plan on spending it all on the truck. I have been looking at beans Elec. fuel system. it looks real nice and I am sure it is but I have a real hard time paying that. I wont have enough for a DIY injectors after the fuel system. is there any others out there that are just as good but less???? anyone ran the new FASS system with the high pressure pump for our trucks, whats that cost?????

Opinions please.

beans setup is pretty good but could be made for less, theres been lots and lots of problems with the fass systems lately. check powerstrokenation.com in the superdooty aftermarket theres a few threads on fass issues right now. i would look at the airdog if your lookin at the air seperation.

im runnin an electric system on my truck that i built if i remember correctly i did it for about $700.

Dahl 150 filter
superduty pump
aeromotive a1000 regulator
cyberdyne fuel pressure gauge
i made a custom pickup in the tank with -10 stainless tubing and directed the return to the other end of the tank
-10line to filter then to pump
then after the pump i just connected back into factory lines since i just have ac's in the truck

ontop of the motor i cut the ends off the factory lines and used compression fittings to go from the tubing to hose

ya need the following hoses 2 12" -4 for feed, and 2 8" -4an for return, 1 8" -6 for supply from hard line to yblock, 6" -6 for return from reg to hard line, i used stainless braided everywhere

need y block -10/-8
2 -8 boss to -4an for yblock
1 -10boss to -6an
1 -8 boss to -6an bottom of regulator
2 -6 boss to -4an sides of reg
2 -4 swivel 90's
1 1/4" mnpt to -4an 45
1 1/4" mnpt to -4an 90 suplly at back of heads
1 3/8" compression to -6an
1 5/16" compression to -6an <- i think i made theese two fittings since i got impacient and couldnt find what i really wanted
need relay, fuse, i use a dpdt switch so i can so its on auto (tied to alternator 12v line) or manual (to purge for new filters) i had hell with pressure switches got sick of them fing up on me and ties it the alternator

oh yeah need the fitings for the two sides of the fuel pump brain fart preventing remmebering sizes.

and need -10boss to -10 an for both sides of the filter, couple feet of -10 stainless tubing, -10an male fitting to weld on the buckhead on the tank the line that is from the tank to filter is 90 one end and 45 other end about 24" and the one from the filter to pump is about 18" strait on both ends

crap what am i forgetting???? oh yeah i used all black fittings looks sharp!!

Thanks Jake, I have tossed around the idea of making my own, but I realy dont have the time now to find parts. I still might. I'll see how I feel when the check gets here.

diesel site's fuel system is supposed to be pretty nice, it has a return cooler with it also. ive been lookin at putting a cooler on mine but its down the list pretty far.

i think if i was gonna buy a system it would be bob's its got the dahl filter the hard anodized aeromotive regulator, the cooler, all the bracketry. its supposed to be pretty slick and its only $50 more than beaners

the fuel cooler wont make the fuel gel it just takes away some of the added heat from the heads
