How to pull RABS Codes?

I swear we need to sticky this since not very many people know how to pull abs codes. I'm copying/pasting what I typed a few months ago.
In order to check your RABS code, you'll need to "find" a black/orange wire that goes into a red wire. When I say find I mean that Ford used 3 places to hide this connector from what I've learned. Mine is on the support rail that sits behind the glovebox and is slightly hidden, but you can see it here...
I should note this is with the glovebox off.
The other places for it to be would be under the drivers side dash (around the column) or out under the hood near the EEC plug (generally applies to vehicles that have 4WABS from what I've noticed).
Anyways... once you find the plug ground the black and orange wire to ground. If you ground the red one you'll blow a fuse. Once you have the wire grounded, turn on your ignition and watch the ABS light. It will then flash codes at you just like the Check Engine light would flash codes. When it ends a code it will end it with a long flash before starting the next code (if there is one), just be sure to count the long flash as well.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: When you get your code(s) post back here and we'll try to figure out what your problem is.

Code given = 4
4 open or shorted valve switch or harness.
Circuit 535 = open or short, circuit 535 is LB/R wire between RABS modual and RABS valve.
Circuit = 274 or 397 open, circuit 274 is BK/W wire between RABS valve and ground.
Then they list some tests to perform if needed.
You'd be better off with a haynes or chiltion manual if you do not have one, will help you many times over its cost. Be sure and buy one with full wiring diagrams, not all of them include it.
I can post you a diagram if you really need it.

I know thismis an old thread but havent found an answer elsewhere. Does the rabs test port have to be plugged into the red wire when not being used for testing. I can't find a red wire that has a connector on it. I get code 7 and pinpoint test says bad controller. One more thing. The color codes of wire to pins 1 and 3 on valve harness
