Tightened the wheel bearings up because they were giving me all sorts of fits keeping the thing going halfway straight and would try and send me one direction or another coming out of a corner. They were only finger tight so I re-torqued them using dads method and took it for a drive and could not believe how much better it handled.
I need to head to the junk yards where you live Brad. I've never been able to find a 40-20-40 seat around here.
No junk yard. Craigs list. Had 3 people call wanting to know if I would sell them 15 min after I bought them(thanks to social media) But trust me these are NOT useable seats(40-20-40), just going to brake them down for parts.
The bench will get fully shampooed them put in the basement with the other 6 or so sets of seats I have for another project
Not today, but last Sunday: I took everything that I carry on my truck, including an absurd mess of tools, vacuumed the truck and made everything tidy. All my carry-on tools are now in a new box that can hold more in a better fashion. Still need to work on the pockets and the center console.
Last week replaced two of the front stabilizer bar bushings.
In the last two weeksI repacked the wheel bearings, added a storage box to the flatbed, replaced the door seals, aligned the front end, rotated the tires, replaced door speakers, added tie down points to the flatbed, machined the rear axle blocks to fix pinion angle, and put about 2500 miles on it between Colorado, Wyoming and Minnesota. Next on the list is an oil change and red head steering gear.
Within the last week, replaced the fuel tank selector switch ( was broken and the truck wouldn't start. Then replaced my driver side motor mount (was being held down by a ratchet trap) bought a used set of 15x8 outlaw rims with 33's on the (2 are bald so i need to replace them) and last but not least clean out all the kids and wife's stuff in the truck and shop vac'd the hell out of the truck. Feels nice to have a nice clean interior again
Finally got my left rear shackle bracket put on my 96 F250 SB Super Crew 4x4. It was a PIA but I got it on. I also bought the right shackle bracket to put on when it rusts off. Working on why the rear tank won't work now.
