Smokey the tow truck is living up to it's name. As a joke I started calling it smokey due to the leaking valve cover gaskets. Well today I figured out why I had no tail lights or instrument lights... I had a melted headlight connector. So I replace that, the headlight switch and now I have tail lights and instrument lights.
I also hooked up the electric choke on the Summit carb I installed. I used the original choke wire to trigger a relay that supplies 12v to the choke. Because of where ford takes the original choke wire it ends up being only 8v or so. Hence the relay. Works great.
Also, I installed one of two LED work lights and with only one it's like daylight.
Still have to check the brakes and then I'll be towing away... I'll make sure to get some pictures for the working truck thread.

My truck has been getting really really bad mileage lately... I went 45 miles on a quarter tank bad... Sooo I need some help.. It's a 1995 f150 5.8
I used to, on interstate, get around 18 and a couple weeks ago I only got 14.5..
The last tune up was 30,000 miles ago and I have a squealing pully or something on the front of the engine so if it's the smog would that kill mileage? What else would rob power and mileage...
I also need to change thermostat to a 195* one to see if that helps..
I picked up a new Pcv valve today because the other was the original with 130,000 miles on it
