I had (two days ago) 2.5 true dual straight pipes with no cat ot crossover and it was LOUD and didn't really have a tone but I like it... Then after I got pulled over for loud exhaust and got a tint ticket because of it I decided to quiet it down some.. So i ordered some dynomax race bullets an holy cow!!! What a difference, it's still pretty loud but it's got a very good tone and it's deep unlike the high pitched strait pipe sound! If you wanna make your straight pipes a little quieter and a lot better time get some rqce billets!!

Re installed the right fender and door since I was a bit off on my lining up. Now it is pretty close just the cab needs a little playing with. Installed the door panels, grille support (which I need to fix today as I messed up on a couple things), dash pad, and new right headlight that I had with the truck. Let me tell you about 90% of this trucks work I have done is way different then the Bricknoses that I am used to.
That was all on the 92 F250.

I got the last headgasket I needed for my 88 F150 so now all I need to do is tear into the engine.

the rest of my work done was on my parts explorer.

Just got done a little bit ago fixing the driver's side hinge pin. Took a little longer than it should, but once I pulled the retaining clip off it got easier.

After a random issue with a shredded belt (Which still got me about 60 miles to the parts store this morning) and replacing said belt @ 8am in the store parking lot, that's about it for me.

I replaced the Dome light and Dome Light lens with a new clear lens and a LED bulb from LMC. I know its not exciting but it makes a big difference being able to see at night.

Made progress towards fixing the steering. Got a bushing to put around the shaft based off a youtube video. So I hope it is right. Can't tell yet, because I ran into a road block with pulling the steering wheel and it was too late to run to the shop and get a wheel puller. Also as part of the steering wheel removal process I cleaned off the battery terminals when I disconnected them.

I also bought a generic seatbelt from autozone, but I may take it back. Not sure I just want a lap belt. I was hoping the buckle would be the same size, but it is not compatible.

Took a brief look at the door mechanism. Really considering just swapping the door, but if I could hook up the key to the rest of the locking mechanism I would be happy. Got to find a good diagram online

Replaced my cracked instrument panel bezel with a replacement off of another truck, and while I was at it replaced the blinker light bulbs. It's nice to have working turn signal indicators! Installed a rear view mirror from a replacement truck (mine was missing when I got the truck). Put a replacement center **** on my HVAC controls. That was also missing when I got the truck. Replaced the map light bulbs (neither side worked), but unfortunately they still don't work. Also replaced the front side marker light bulbs, but after much effort (those are a real chore to get to!!) they still don't work either.

So, I guess my next step is to figure out why the map lights and side markers don't work even with new bulbs. I'm not looking forward to that!

New Exhaust installed successfully. New Y pipe, high flow cat, and force 2 exhaust system from Flowmaster. Learned that direct fit and bolt on don't exactly mean such, but with a torch, a grinder, and the right tools I managed.

Replaced a few speedometer cluster bulbs that were intermittent or not working. PITA as a few of upper cluster surround retaining pins broke and the two screws holding the tank switch broke out of their threads while trying to unplug it. Damn brittle plastic!
Lately more things break than what I try to fix.work
Also tried trouble shooting why my A/C vents work intermittently but none of the vacuum lines or tees were broken or kinked. It looks like the vent problem may remain a mystery.
I ran out of daylight to try to take the headlights out to figure why the adjustments don't work. It looks like it's another PITA to pull off the headlight doors.

Finished out the bushing install. It is good enough for now, but I think eventually I want to get a new steering column. It steers ok now, and as an added bonus the turn signal now self cancels. The steering wheel is not exactly straight though.

I also did a temporary fix of putting an old wrench on the door handle. It could be better, but at least I am not reaching for the vice grips when I want to get out.

Don't feel bad. Water pump jobs on all V8 Fords, at least the ones with power steering and A/C, have been a PITA for over the last 45 years or so.
