What have you done to your truck today?
Went to the East Atlanta pull-a-part yesterday, found an UNBROKEN cluster surround!!! The fuel-tank switch was still attached!!! I am going to swap mine out, since my tank switch has been dangling since I bought the truck in May.... but I'd like to "fortify" the new one first... ideas?
I've been thinking about some JB Weld or something, since I can already see hairline-cracks in the plastic that holds the tank switch.

Installed a new tool box in my truck today. As well as a new ignition cylinder and matching door locks as when i got my truck the original key was broke off in the ignition cylinder. Installed blue t-10 leds in the door panels and replaced the bulb for the bed lighting. Some time this week going to be installing new led bulbs in the gauge cluster as well!
new windshield
The old one leaked just above the rear view mirror. After three trips to repair it didn't work I had the shop pull the windshield off to redo the whole thing.
Nice and dry now as we've had 5 days of continuous rain in Maryland. I'm sure any new leaks would have shown up in the last couple of days.

In the last week I went to the local pick n pull, picked up a bench seat from a 96 F150 (with adjustable head rests, fold down arm rest and the cup holder that mounds to the seat but have to conjure up some bolts to mount that) and I got a 3G alternator from a 99 Mustang GT.
I had captains chairs from a Bronco in the truck, but missed the availability of hauling 2 other people around, so I found the nicest bench in the yard. Amazing how the nicest one is always the FARTHEST from the gate to the yard isn't it?
The 3G alternator was a chore to put in. Had to clearance far more of the bracket that it mounts to than I read I would have to. Not really a big deal, but it wasn't something I planned for. Also had to reclock it, again not something I hoped I'd have to do.
And then O'Reilly's gave me the run around trying to get the fuse holder for the Megafuse so I had to travel farther to Napa to get it. Not a big deal, but that's my last straw with O'Reilly Auto Parts, and I even have a jobber account with them.
Next up, installing a new transfercase. Only gone through 3 of those in the 5 years I've had the truck...pieces of junk...

Well I hit a bit of a milestone on the highway
I know it's nothing compared to some of y'alls trucks but still
Also took her to to the local yard and scored a nearly perfect tailgate trim piece, complete with a non cracked plastic trim and letters to boot! I also picked up a cluster surround that didn't appear to be cracked anywhere, plus a fuel selector switch that was in better shape than mine, to be put in after a very extensive cleaning.

Did my biannual oil spray. Put about 3 qts of used oil/Fluid Film mix all over the underside. Did inside the front fenders and the bed lips. After 5 yrs in Ohio, it's pretty gummy but still rust free. Not bad for a 1989 F150. I do the hood/doors/tailgate about once a year. They don't get the constant road bath that washes stuff off so they are still oil soaked.
