I hate to hear stories like that, my dog is also a rescue and when we first got him he was only 17 weeks i believe and him and his sister were abandoned. They were found in a dumpster down in Tennessee trying to find food at 4 weeks old. His sister ended up dieing and he lived but he would have died if his foster parents couldn't get him to he but they got him to eat bacon fat mixed with his food. Now he wont leave us alone when we cook bacon though lol.
We live in tn but we found ours in nc while we were visiting my wife's mamaw. She's Cherokee Indian and lives 30 miles from the closest thing that resembles civilization, so our pup wouldn't have stood a chance if we hadn't found her. I've got nothing against pure breeds and have had a couple of pugs, bulldogs and beagles, but I like hearing stories like yours too where someone gave an animal another chance. They usually end up being the best ones too

I agree, good to see yours is in good health and happy as well
I love that rendition Mark. I commissioned someone to do a painting of our 3 dogs. I sent the guy a picture of each one, and he did the painting. It was for my wife's birthday, or anniversary a few years ago. It now hangs above our fireplace.

Thanks, that is also where ours is over the mantel. She is such a talented lady and I am glad my son is with her.
I always thought poodles were foo-foo dogs until Callie arrived on the scene as a pup 3 years ago. Squirrels, chipmunks and mailmen or UPS drivers - watch out for some noise and a chasing. Say the words, 'ride', 'camper', 'car' and she's the first one ready.
