New truck

Bought a new truck. 2007 f-150 lariat crew cab I would like to know what kind of after market parts people use as in bug shields bed cover (hard) running boards or nerf bars. I also would like to know best muffler and pipe for slight rumble (not loud). I have added a K&N filter. Add 2mpg on lie-o-meter is this normal?

First off...take your K&N back out and you'll thank yourself down the road....do a search on here and find the problems that people have had with K&N filters....I've got stock ford tubular running boards and love em.....

Get rid of the K&N. If you want a high performance air filter, AFE makes a non oiled OEM replacment unit that will give you the performance needed without the oil problems. If you want to do a complete CAI system, Volant makes a CAI with a dry power core filter that also has had great reviews. As far as exhaust, there are tons of posts available on this site and you can hear just about every exhaust on the market on U-Tube. I have the Magnaflow 16616 si/do in front of the rear wheel and I love it. Not too loud and no noticable drone on the highway. My wife even likes it. And as far as a cover for the bed I have the hard Undercover and it is working out great for me. Go luck and be sure to post some pics.
