I think a guy needs both! We use our quad as a work horse so its not really a toy. Going for a rip on the quad is fun - lot slower pace, fun in the mud, nice and warm out: however; its not in the same league as far as the 'thrill factor' goes!
Just got back from Edmonton - put in an offer on a 2007 Dragon RMK with less than 800 miles and not a scratch. I will know in a few days if he snow checks a new one / accepts my offer but i think it should work out. The sled is owned by a friend of mine that I still ride with.

The show was all good. I am just as unbiased about sleds as I am vehicles! I like to look at the good / bad points on all of them and choose with a high ranking on the matters that I view as priorities. All the brands that are left make great stuff. Here are some of my feelings:

YAMAHA
- I dont like the way they look
- the four strokes are still too heavy especially nose heavy for how and where I ride
- the four stroke technology is the way of the future (eventually) and they are definitely way ahead here

SKIDOO
- XP is much improved rider position than the REV or RT chassis
- very light --- they knocked/rocked the world with the REV and they have set a new benchmark for weight
- I am a hands on guy and this sled absolutely and positively stinks for working under the hood - you cant get to anything!
-belt wear issues

ARCTIC CAT
- some nice technology here too - they have a handlebar riser that tilts and lets you roll the angle of the bar w/o the use of tools and they have a new telescopic steering post as well. These are important to me because I ride standing up in deep snow but like to sit for the trail stuff
- still room to work under hood

POLARIS
- just to show some of you 'blue oval only' guys how you sound ---> these are absolutely the best in every area and even if they werent I would still buy only this brand!!!

i used to be a polaris guy... hated them when they changed the styling, but i haven't rode much in the past few years and have only looked into yamaha's since my falling out with polaris. right now, my sled favorites are swinging in the wind...

i will, however, be die hard FORD forever

not sure really. i loved them before they changed the styling to the "no trailing arms" wheasel look of todays sleds, and they had a few problems with some of their new engines... nothing legitimate, i know, but a trail ride on a yamaha SRX700 triple/triple made me look at things a little differently.

im a ski-doo guy.
building a mild mod out of my 02 mxz 800 renegade right now.

plans are 4" bar risers, mx bars, move all switches from the bars to the dash, hand gaurds, new grips, can, some other secret engine mods, rev or boss seat, lowrise windshield
possibly a new track.

i also might be picking this up. 2005 ski-doo 550 fan. only a 550 but plans are to turn it into a straight highpowered lightweight mod. purpose built for racing, jumping etc.

Cool sleds Marshall. I would actually like to get a couple of 500+ L/C sleds for me and the woman, I think that would be a perfect size for the type of riding we do.
