help I got the vibes

ok folks I got a vibration coming from the rear of my truck,I feel it in the floor and seats and it vibrates my mirrors, it starts right around 55mph and continues as I go faster but the vibration seems to stay about the same, however if I get in the throttle hard the vibration goes away, shutting off overdrive or dropping into nuetral does nothing for the vibration it's still there,I have swapped the rear wheels to the front and vice versa and that did not help,I have greased both driveshaft slip joints that did not help,I have pulled both driveshafts and checked the universals they all seem tight and free moving,I have checked the indexing on both driveshafts that is fine,I tried rotating the rear driveshaft 90deg. still no help.also I get no noises with the vibration,my next step was going to be getting the driveshaft balanced and put new universals in it,I'm getting tired of messing with this thing and camping season is coming I need to get it fixed.I would just like to add I don't have a carrier bearing so thats not the problem.Any help folks is much appreciated

Could be in the rear diff, but probably driveshaft/U-joint related. Had the same prob in a different truck than my current, U-joints seemed tight and not binding but replaced anyways. Problem disappeared, so you never know. Get it balanced, and throw in U-joints for good measure. Mine appeared at about 80,000 miles. Good luck, keep us posted....

i had a similar vib in my 99 4x4 and to test rear drive shaft i removed it and ran on the front only

ran smooth so i balanced the rear(shop said it was a little off) and vibe was gone

at lease w/driveline out you can determine better if it is in that componet before your spend money on it

It's definately coming from the rear of the truck, plus I just had both fronts apart, replaced seals, greased needle bearings etc. and everything is good up there

instead of just spending money on the driveshaft maybe I will do as kengarchow said, which I thought about doing I just did not know how good that was for the front driveline.

check your driveshaft to see if any weights are missing.
