Cps

I have an appointment tommrow at the local ford dealer to get my cps changed out for this new one. I been reading a few forums and I noticed that this new one is giving more problems then the old one. i have a 2001 with 69k and me being new to diesel trucks I have felt that my moter is not acting up at all. Should i go through with this recal and have them install a new cps. I just don't know what to do.

If you think you are good with the old one, buy a gray CPS from dealer and keep it in your glove box. You need to put a 10 mm wrench in the glove box with it. The new CPS is around 27.00.

I'm also up in the air about this recall. I replaced my own back in '05 with an 85 dollar at the time black one from the stealership. It has been trouble free ever since. I kinda want the recall done, but only if they will let me keep the one they screwed me for about 3 years ago.

Well on a previous post I stated how I had gotten the notice and I was going to make an appointment to get it changed. Well with all of the comments from folks having problems with the recall/replacement cps at the dealer I've decided not to do it at this time I have two (2) spares that I ordered previously from Fullerford. Figured I would change the original one if it starts to give me any problems. Until I see/hear about more confidence in the recalled part I'm just going to hold off for a little while longer. Besides I have two (2) spares! Just my $.02 LOL

My new gray one is in the glove box, I will not let the dealer touch my truck. The black one has been trouble free for two years and I'll leave it in till it goes bad if and when that happens.

I had my 01 changed about 1 month ago, had no problems before or after. It was less than a half hour job, I reminded them I wanted to make sure they used di-electric grease on the plug, can,t complain.

I had mine done last month with no problems to date. I also have 2 more in the glove box, just incase I need one and the other is for the guy on the side of the road and don't know what is up.

Well crap! They have mine now doing the deed. I was going to let them put the lower altinator while they were at it, but they want $500 just to do the lower one. Its not so easy to do as everyone says, when you have duel altinators.

I changed mine out last year and have had no trouble so far with the new one. Did the recall visit last week so I could get reimbursed. Dealer was questioning my air intake, said he looked up the Ford p/n but couldn't find any service bulletins on it. Had to explain it to him.

I had mine changed for the recall and have had no problems in fact it runs even better than before. I would have just waited until it went but knowing my luck that would be the day it was -30 outside.
