Hey Bob, I like the '57's I think the '58 to 60's are UGLY! But I hate 4 headlight systems. Anyway, maybe someone will post some pics of the F157 that won truck of the year at the Supernats last year? It is a fine example of what you can do to a '57. I'd love to have a '57 grille to go in my '61 Unibody. I hate the stock '61 grille.

NO, your truck Is Not Ugly!
Yes, we do have what I coined are the "Orphan Years" trucks as I explained previously & they are not as popular as the Pre '56s & Post '61s.
One of the reasons that some believe them to be ugly, is the Fact that the simpley Cannot stand an Un-Modified truck in the 1st place.
They look @ it & think, "I can do a Better job than the Original designers did"!
Period, end subject!
We Own the BEST Looking trucks FoMoCo Ever Designed!
And don't Ever let Anyone tell you otherwise!

I believe the 1956 to be the best looking truck of ALL time, and have a whole fleet of them. I also have a 1957 in Florida that I got for 700.00 and is nice shape, but really is my little orphan annie!! I like it only because it reminds me of a 56.
To each their own.......and in my case ---I will take a 6pac of each....Bill

Hey Bob, I think the two headlight trucks look better than 4 lights , but it ain't a big deal. I have a 59 F100 panel and a 59 Pickup and they're not real pretty but they are mine and paid for. I'll work on the pretty later I just want to get one of them on the road. 1948-1960 they are all pretty to me. It's like and old man told me once. "If everyone liked the same thing, they would all want my WIFE". So there....another profound statement.
Best of luck with your truck, Mike

Look at it this way. The '56 and '57 are both unique. Both were only produced for 1 year before model changes made them unique at a glance ('56 "A" pillars and '57 single headlights). They had a lot of similarities with trucks around them, but you can glance at one and know what it is.
Don't think of it as ugly, think of it as "special". I went looking for 1 of 2 trucks when I took the plunge. Either a '57 big window or a '61 unibody. Ended up with both. Both are first year, both are different. Neither are ugly.
