03 exp, just turned over 100,000, 5.4L

 

1998 Expedition Eddie Bauer 4x4, almost 220k with no major problems other than the air ride suspension in the rear went bad, replacing with coils, soon though. I'd much rather take reliability over "comfort" in that area, with towing trailers and all. The driver's side window motor went out, too. Runs like a beast. has a 2.5" to 3" tip, glasspack, K and N air filter, Airraid PowerAid t.b. spacer. All fluids are current, using Mobil1 Synthetic 5w20 with either K and N or Fram TG filters. Engine cleaned regularly with Gunk Motorflush and fuel system with BG 44K on occaision

 

haha only the 5.4 runs like a 5.4....which definately doesn't sip gasoline too well haha

 

No work on tranny, engine or A/C. Zero work.

Had problems w the 4W; dropped the u-joint on front wheel drive shaft on the Jersey Turnpike, replaced radiator, water pump, no heat from dash, (probably heater core), electrical issue w the driver window, replaced factory radio cuz it lost the LED display, horn shorted out and went crazy honking for no reason, (wire harness shorted at the fuse box, cant clear check engine lite, EGR issue no one can resolve...........

got 117,500 on 03 XLT. Starting to have misfire issues though.

 

When's the last time you changed plugs and coils?

 

1997 XLT 4.6L Triton 296k, Still going strong. Engine and trans were rebuilt around 150k.

 

2001 Expedition, 150600, as of this morning. It had 111000 on it when I bought it two years ago. Miles have been adding up quick, with a 140 round trip to work for the last 6 months. And 500 mile round trip to my fiances for teh last yr and a half. No major issues, other than a temp sensor, and a couple of coils. It will probably need a AC compressor by next spring.

 

yeah, i hated to part with my Buick Roadmaster wagon but i too needed 4WD so she had to go.
mine is a '99 EB with 104k, bought last Oct. ($8995) with 96k on it.
needed front brakes then, and now the trailing arms.
i love this thing!! ITS AWESOME

4/02 build.. I picked it up in May of 02.


Just gutted the interior. Im replacing the driverside seat cushion and redying the seat back to match with SEM dye. Looks brand new now!
Carpet is all out to be cleaned...all interior panels are out to be cleaned.
Lots of busy work but its such a great truck it deserves some good TLC after 100k miles.

While its all out, Ive searched but cant seem to find a source (if its possbile to even do) for an IPOD inerface for the Mach 6 system with OUT the AUX button or DVD system.
Anyone have any ideas.
Having the IPOD would be the icing on the cake driving it around now.

 

2002 EB 5.4 120k. Just got it last week, seems to have been well maintained. However, got rear heat, front heat is partial. Prob the "blend door" issue I've just read about?. Prob add a pic tomorrow.

Replaced a vacuum "thingy majiger" and a couple coil packs

 

Just turned 272,000 on my 2001 Expedition XLT. Starting to show its age though. Need new motor mounts (how much is that?) but still good on oil and about 16mpg. Smooth running engine and trans.
The 5.4 is doing its job for me!

 

Just made 187k. I haven't been putting the miles on that i used to. Still trying to get north of 200k. Its great to see all of the others up there.
