Question Hand Held Code Reader Question

What is the best hand held code reader to get? Will it read pending codes? Also is there a programmer that might do these things, if so which is the best?

I have a hand help programmer I purchased from matco tools.(around 100 bucks) It reads codes as well as reads pending codes. It has been well worth the money for me.It has a matco name on it so i have no idea who actually makes it..

Autozone sells a nice one as well. I was able to read the codes for my Taurus, replace the correct o2 sensors and reset the onboard computer. You can cross reference the codes with the a Haynes manual. I think about $125.00
