I assume the Ford oval from the 7.3L grill is not the same as on the 05-07 grill? In other words you need to buy a used grill with the oval included or a $200 pre-converted grill?

I called Certifit in Baltimore and they only sell the black grill for the 2005-2005 superduty. Go figure....the guy told me the late model superduty parts are limited. Black grill is only $55.

I want the shiny grill. Me like shiny.

Seems kinda crazy to pay $200 plus shipping for an aftermarket grill which they cut up, when you can buy a grill for $75 and cut it yourself....

Doesn't MKM just buy an aftermarket copy and then cut it down for you? Did the bottom of yours look like someone had trimmed it?

I used this harness....

Headlight Conversion Harness [50-917-8] - $85.00 : GOS Performance | High Performance Diesel Parts | Bozeman / Livingston, Montana, 800-620-4467

I'm very happy with how this mod turned out. I like the chrome look of the bumper better than the 05 painted one.

That looks super dope. It doesn't look like they cut it....do you recall from when you installed it?\

Did it come with the FORD oval emblem?

I assume you had to cut the plastic behind the lights to get the new lights to fit?

I installed it two years ago and it came with the emblem. Expensive yes, but it turned out ok. I just didnt trust myself to make a straight cut..

Yes, it fiberglass. I used a roto zip and the instructions you see earlier in this thread. That harness uses relays and is connected directly in the batteries for voltage. Plus, high beams gives you both high and low. My old headlights were clouded, bad. You can do this easily in 4 hours.

Thanks for the info. Looks great.

So you use OEM 2006-2008 headlights? + the harness?

Do you feel like the new lights are secure even though they aren't using the factory mounts?

I don't see the point of that complex $85 harness when you can get the lights and the wiring for $160.

One of the advantages of the harness is that it puts the full battery voltage to the bulbs and the other is that it was plug and play. Have you tried Keystone automotive in Linthicum?

But is more expensive and all that wiring is totally unnecessary.

KEYSTONE, do they sell the public? Aren't they an LKQ Corp subsidiary?
